Failure Analysis for Switchgear

A. Control switch failure or open circuit
Control switch is damaged, then the circuit cannot be closed and the control loop break that cause to an open circuit.

Failures: motor does not turn or no voltage for the motor ends.

Checking method: using multimeter to measure voltage or resistance.

Measuring method: when voltage control circuit is energized, adjust the multimeter voltage. If there is voltage (except for step-down components), then has open circuit between two points. When measuring with the resistance method, need to check the bypass on-off. If there is a parallel circuit bypass, one end of the circuit under test should be disconnected.
B. Limit switch adjusted incorrectly
Limit switch is to control the motor storage position limit, which will cut off the power supply once the motor power storage is enough. If the limit is too high, the body energy storage is full.

Failures: motor idling cannot stop, storage indicator light is off. Only open the control switch (HK) can stop the motor.

If the limit adjusted too low, motor will shut down in advance for short of energy storage, and the switch cannot be closed.

Solution: Manually adjust limit storage to find the right position then tighten.
C. Motor failure
If the motor windings burned, will happen to smell, smoke, fuse burnt. If there is voltage across the motor, the motor does not work for motor brush missing or badly worn. Check motor voltage, resistance or replacing other good motor to confirm whether is motor failure.
