The transformer connection "yyn0" refers to a specific configuration used in three-phase power transformers. This notation describes how the primary and secondary windings of the transformer are interconnected. Let's break down the "yyn0" notation:

  1. The first 'y' signifies that the primary winding is connected in a star (wye) configuration, where one end of each of the three phases is connected together at a neutral point. This creates a central neutral point on the primary side.

  2. The second 'y' indicates that the secondary winding is also connected in a star (wye) configuration, mirroring the primary side. Again, the ends of the three phases are joined at a neutral point, providing a secondary neutral.

  3. The 'n' following each 'y' confirms the presence of a neutral connection available from both the primary and secondary sides. It's important to note that even though two 'n's are shown, they represent the same physical neutral point when the transformer is considered as a whole.
