Transformer site acceptance tests including electrical tests and functional tests.
Electrical Tests
Insulation Resistance Test: Measure the insulation resistance between windings and between windings to ground to verify integrity.
Dielectric Strength Test (Hi-Pot Test): Apply a high voltage to check the transformer's ability to withstand electrical stress without breakdown.
Winding Resistance Test: Measure the resistance of each winding to detect any abnormalities.
No-Load Test: Perform with the transformer energized but without load to measure no-load losses and excitation current, indicating core condition and efficiency.
Load Test: Apply a specified load to the transformer and measure voltage drops, currents, and losses to confirm performance under actual operating conditions.
Temperature Rise Test: Monitor the temperature rise of the transformer under rated load to ensure it stays within allowable limits.
Functional Tests
Control and Protection System Verification: Test all control and protection functions, including Buchholz relay, oil level indicators, temperature sensors, and cooling systems.
Auxiliary Systems Check: Inspect and test auxiliary systems like fans, pumps, and heating systems for correct operation.
Interlocking and Safety Features: Verify that all interlocks and safety mechanisms function correctly, preventing unauthorized access or operation under unsafe conditions.
